A Challenging ECM Repair Case
We’ve encountered some truly unique cases here at our shop.
One particular instance involved an ISX ECM for a 2004-2007 engine. The customer reported that the truck wouldn’t start, and upon further inquiry, we learned that a mechanic had previously attempted to open the unit.
Upon inspection, the ECM appeared to be in decent condition externally. However, a closer look revealed a damaged board. Using a microscope, we discovered a critical component, a resistor, had been fractured.
Despite the damage, we were optimistic about the possibility of repair. Our technicians worked diligently to repair the damaged component and replace it with a new one. Once completed, we will delve deeper into the root cause of the failure.
In this case, the customer was fortunate.
